Advance Practice Professional
Provider Executive Leadership Institute (PELI)
We are delighted to announce that enrollment is now underway for the Daniel Hanley Center for Health Leadership's Provider Executive Leadership Institute (PELI) specifically for Advanced Practice Professionals.
What we knew pre-pandemic, but became even more evident throughout the pandemic, the role of Advanced Practice Professionals in the delivery of healthcare services has never been more important. APPs are a vital and precious resource in every corner of our state and their integral inclusion in care teams requires them to pull upon leadership and management skills often not covered in their training.
The Hanley Center has heard loud and clear the desire and need for a leadership development course specifically for APPs across Maine. We have tailored our well-respected physician PELI Foundational Course to suit the leadership development challenges that Advanced Practice Professionals face.
We also heard how challenging it is for busy professionals to travel for so many in-person learning sessions. To that end, we’ve transitioned this course to a hybrid model, enabling in-person network development opportunities at the first 2 and last 2 full sessions and virtual delivery for several of the middle sessions, particularly through the winter months.
Participants will gain knowledge, skills, and tools in the following core competency areas, empowering them to lead and transform our healthcare delivery system:
- Systems awareness
- Strategic focus
- Management/business skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Healthcare trends
- Teamwork and collaboration
In our PELI Foundational Advanced Practice Provider course you will gain knowledge, skills, and tools to build your competency in these areas empowering you to lead and transform our healthcare delivery system.
The Course consists of six two-evening sessions and four 90-minute intersessions taking place over one year. The two-evening sessions take place on consecutive evenings once every other month, with the intersessions scheduled on the off-months.
In addition to excellent learning and network opportunities, this course offers 1:1 executive coaching with our faculty during the course, an extremely valuable professional service that leaders at every level benefit from.
